The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Mumuni Dramani.
This followed clashes between two Dagomba clans at Kumbaom- Naayili near the Tamale Airport.
Twenty eight casualties including Mahama Iddrisu 40, Yakubu Dramani 40 and Mumuni Fuseini 30 are responding to treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Reports indicate that the combatants exchanged gun fire early hours of Tuesday over a parcel of land.
Eight locally manufactured guns, military uniforms and other deadly materials including daggers were retrieved from the combatants.
The Northern Regional Police PRO, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh confirmed the incident to Citi News.
