Covid-19: His Excellency President Akuffo-Addo to be the first person in Ghana to receive the vaccine

President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo has accepted to be the first person to be vaccinated against Covid-19. The president's decision is to assist with monitoring and encourage Ghanaians to get vaccinated at no cost.

According to Dr. Nsiah Asare, presidential advisor on health, there have been mixed reactions among Ghanaians against the vaccine's intake. This is because of the perceived side effects, which are not familiar to Ghanaians.

The first to be vaccinated would be President Akufo-Addo. This is to ensure that the vaccine is safe for Ghanaians and any other reactions such as fever, dizziness, or pain are all normal with each vaccination,' Dr. Nsiah Asare added.

When God's Is Taking Too Long

When God's Timing Is Taking Too Long

We all want good things to happen in our lives, but too often we want it now...not later. When it doesn't happen that way, we are tempted to ask, "When, God, when?" Most of us need to grow in the area of trusting God instead of focusing on the "when" question. If you're missing joy and peace, you're not trusting God. If your mind feels worn out all the time, you're not trusting God.
The tendency to want to know about everything that's going on can be detrimental to your Christian walk. Sometimes knowing everything can be uncomfortable and can even hurt you. I spent a large part of my life being impatient, frustrated and disappointed because there were things I didn't know. God had to teach me to leave things alone and quit feeling that I needed to know everything. I finally learned to trust the One who knows all things and accept that some questions may never be answered. We prove that we trust God when we refuse to worry.

God wants us to live by discernment—revelation knowledge, not head knowledge. It's difficult to exercise discernment if you're always trying to figure out everything. But when you're willing to say, "God, I can't figure this out, so I'm going to trust You to give me revelation that will set me free," then you can be comfortable in spite of not knowing. Trusting God often requires not knowing how God is going to accomplish what needs to be done and not knowing when He will do it. We often say God is never late, but generally He isn't early either. Why? Because He uses times of waiting to stretch our faith in Him and to bring about change and growth in our lives.

Wait With Patience

We spend a lot of time in our lives waiting because change is a process. Many people want change, but they don't want to go through the waiting process. But the truth is, waiting is a given—we are going to wait. The question is, are we going to wait the wrong or right way? If we wait the wrong way, we'll be miserable; but if we decide to wait God's way, we can become patient and enjoy the wait. It takes practice, but as we let God help us in each situation, we develop patience, which is one of the most important Christian virtues. Patience is a fruit of the Spirit (see Galatians 5:22). It's developed only under trial, so we must not run from difficult situations. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing (James 1:4).
As we develop patience, the Bible says we finally feel completely satisfied—lacking nothing. Even our relationship with God involves progressive changes. My relationship with God is so much different now than it was in the early days of my Christian experience. It is not nearly as emotionally exciting...and yet it is better. Every change I've gone through has made me more mature, solid and well-grounded. We learn to trust God by going through many experiences that require trust. By seeing God's faithfulness over and over, we let go of trusting ourselves, and gradually we place our trust in Him. Looking at it like this, it is easy to see how timing plays an important part in learning to trust God. If He did everything we asked for immediately, we would never grow and develop. Timing and trust work side by side.

Accept God's Timing

God gives us hopes and dreams for certain things to happen in our lives, but He doesn't always allow us to see the exact timing of His plan. Although frustrating, not knowing the exact timing is often what keeps us in the program. There are times when we might give up if we knew how long it was going to take, but when we accept God's timing, we can learn to live in hope and enjoy our lives while God is working on our problems. We know that God's plan for our lives is good, and when we entrust ourselves to Him, we can experience total peace and happiness.
The book of Genesis tells the story of Joseph, who waited many years for the fulfillment of the dream God had given him. He was falsely accused and imprisoned before the time came for him to do what God had shown him he was to do. Exodus 13:17-18 tells us that God led the Israelites the longer, harder way on their journey to the Promised Land because He knew they were not yet ready to go in. There had to be time for their training, and they had to go through some very trying situations. They wasted a lot of time wondering about God's timing, but God never failed to take care of them and show them what He wanted them to do. The same is true in our lives. It was many years after I received my call from God in February of 1976 before I finally began to see major fulfillment of what God had called me to do. God's training period simply requires us to do what He tells us to do when He tells us to do it...without questioning or trying to figure everything out.

Learn to Rely on God

Proverbs 16:9 says, A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. Proverbs 20:24 says,Man's steps are ordered by the Lord. How then can a man understand his way? When God directs our paths, He sometimes leads us in ways that don't make sense to us so we're not always going to understand everything. If we try to reason out everything, we will experience struggle, confusion and misery—but there is a better way. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. This sounds so simple, yet too many people make the mistake of trying to figure everything out themselves. Most of us have spent our lives trying to take care of ourselves, but when we accept Christ as our Savior, we must learn to trust our lives to His care. When we do, we can say with the psalmist, ...I trusted in, relied on, and was confident in You, O Lord; I said, You are my God. My times are in Your hands...(Psalm 31:14-15).
First Peter 5:5 tells us that ...God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful)—[and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them], but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble. Anyone who thinks they're a self-made man or woman has a rude awakening coming because Jesus said, ...apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing (John 15:5). Humility is a covering that draws the help of God into our lives to protect us. When we humble ourselves by saying, "God, I don't know what to do, but I'm trusting You," God gets in gear to help us. God won't allow us to succeed at anything unless we're leaning and relying on Him. But when we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, in due time, He will exalt us (see 1 Peter 5:6). "Due time" is God's time, when God knows we're ready, not when we think we're ready. The sooner we understand and accept that, the sooner God can work His plan in our lives.

From Seedtime to Harvest

Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us: To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven. This lets us know that we all don't live in the same season at the same time. You should never be jealous of someone who is enjoying harvest while you're still in the planting season. Remember, they had to go through a season of planting just as you are. Seeing the results they are enjoying should be an encouragement to you. Understand and trust that God is doing the very best for you in your present season. Seedtime represents learning the will of God. Each time I choose God's will instead of my own, I'm planting a good seed that will eventually bring a harvest in my life. If you want to be victorious, you cannot afford to get pulled into the world's system, doing what you feel like doing. James 1:21 tells us what we should do: ...get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.
Your soul is your mind, your will and your emotions. When the Word gets rooted in there and begins to change your mind, it begins to heal your emotions and turn your will away from self-will and onto doing the will of God. Living out of one's own soul is equivalent to staying in the wilderness. When my flesh is finally crucified and I get out of my soul and into doing the will of God, that's when I enter the promised land. The promised land is knowing who you are in Christ, knowing how to fellowship with Him, enjoying His presence, and having peace, contentment and joy. Between seedtime and harvest comes a time of waiting. After a seed is planted, the heat, moisture and pressure of the ground finally cause the outer hull to crack open. Then roots shoot down, digging their way through the ground. It takes time for this to happen, and it takes place underground. Above the ground, you can't tell anything is happening. That's the way our lives are. After we plant seeds of obedience, we feel like nothing is happening, but all kinds of things are happening inside where we can't see. And like the seed that finally bursts through the ground with a beautiful green shoot, our seeds of obedience finally break forth into a beautiful manifestation of God in our lives.
When harvesttime comes, the desires of your heart begin to manifest—bondages fall off of you and you see your dreams come to pass. You see your kids changing and your family getting saved. Prosperity, favor, promotion, honor, and all kinds of good things come out in the open where they can be seen. In harvesttime, more than ever before, you hear from God, you enjoy His presence, and you're led by the Spirit. Blessings begin to chase you down the street, and joy and calm delight become your normal mood. Are you tired of waiting for harvesttime in your life? Are you frustrated, crying out, "When, God, when?" Then you need to understand that God's timing is often a mystery. He doesn't do things on our timetable. Yet His Word promises that He will not be late, not one single day. But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day! (Habakkuk 2:3 TLB).
God causes things to happen at exactly the right time! Your job is not to figure out when, but to make up your mind that you won't give up until you cross the finish line and are living in the radical, outrageous blessings of God! The more you trust Jesus and keep your eyes focused on Him, the more life you'll have. Trusting God brings life. Believing brings rest. So stop trying to figure everything out, and let God be God in your life.

Prince David Osei Gets New Movie Role In USA

Actor Prince David Osei is expected to touch down in Atlanta sometime this week ahead of his new movie project in the USA.

He is working with an American production company called High Skill Production on its upcoming drama titled, ‘Mothers Prayer’.

David is the only cast from Ghana, with the others being residents of the United State of America.

“For now, it is too early to tag the movie an international project but the end will justify it all,” sources close to the Ghanaian actor said.
David was last in the international zombie-like film, ‘The Dead’.

Even though David confirmed to NEWS-ONE that he was going to shoot a movie in the USA, he refused to give further details of the project.
When David leaves Ghana this week, he won’t return until in April.

Holy Tango - Pastor, woman leader locked in battle

The popular saying that ”hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” appears to be playing in the case between gospel musician and pastor Rev Seth Baah known for hit songs such as 'Alpha and Omega', 'I hear Thy Welcome Voice' and church leader, Miss Gifty Amponsah.

The two are locked in a legal battle in Maryland, USA, over money and relationship claims and counter claims.

Gifty is claiming an amount of $20,830.19 from Rev Baah as being money she lent to the pastor to help him towards the establishment of a branch of his church, Praise Chapel International in the US.

According to her, as a leader in her church, Assemblies of in Maryland, it was her duty to see to the comfort of visiting pastors such as Rev Baah who was a visiting pastor from UK.

She told Showbiz over the phone that she established a cordial relationship with Rev. Baah when she hosted him in her house throughout his stay in Maryland until he later decided to establish his own church, Praise Chapel International also in Maryland.

Gifty said she lent an amount of $20,830.19 to Rev Baah for the commencement of his church though a written agreement.

Later, however, when it was time for him to pay back the money, he appeared unwilling to do so.

When this reporter contacted Rev.Baah, the pastor’s attorneys Louis M. Leibowitz, LLC responded to the allegations against their client.

They confirmed that indeed Gifty, as the Hospitality Leader in her church, hosted Rev. Baah at her home in Maryland for some months when he was a visiting pastor and the two spend much time together.

According to a counterclaim in court, the attorneys submitted that it was during Rev Baah’s stay at Gifty’s place where she cooked and entertained him that she developed romantic feelings for him and expected that her feelings would be reciprocated.

Eventually, Rev.Baah decided to open his own branch of the church at Maryland and Gifty voluntarily decided to contribute money to assist in the new churches establishment.

However, things turned sour when Gifty got to know that Rev. Baah had married another woman in Maryland thereby thwarting her long cherished dream of having him to herself.

The counterclaim stated that in February last year Gifty stormed Rev Baah’s church premises while the pastor was delivering a sermon and disrupted the service by raining insults on him and calling him a liar and thief in front of his church members.

Gifty also went ahead to distribute fliers that carried defamatory statements against him which eventually led to a mass desertion of members from his church.

All these, the counterclaim said, were aimed as revenge on Mr. Baah for rejecting her romantic advances.

But Gifty denies that she has revenge motives.

When Showbiz asked her if her actions were not a revenge on Rev. Baah for abandoning her for another lady, she said, “Revenge is of the Lord and not man. I want justice served that is why I took him to court and to educate the public especially women who seem to be his target. I don’t want him to hurt more single innocent women. He is not a man of God but a fraud who uses the church as his money making venture”.

Chelsea to offload Essien, Lyon interested

Chelsea will name a new manager in the summer and it’s anyone’s guess as to who that could be at this stage.

But the club will be keen to avoid the mistakes of the past and provide their next coach with a clean slate, and the Daily Mail believe that as many as nine players including Michael Essien are set for the exit doors.

The West London club are keen to offload a number of squad members, with financial fair play in mind, to make room for new additions this summer by trimming the hefty wage bill.

Frank Lampard, Fernando Torres, Florent Malouda, Michael Essien, Yossi Benayoun, Marko Marin, Paulo Ferreira, Henrique Hilario and Jeffrey Bruma are the players the Daily Mail believe to be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Essien, who is gradually becoming a pivotal part of the Real Madrid team under Jose Mourinho, has since been linked by the Spanish press with his former club, Olympique Lyon in France.

Others also believe that if Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge in the summer, he will bring Essien along to give the Ghanaian another chance to resurrect his Blues career.

Meanwhile, Essien is becoming Madrid’s talisman in the Spanish La Liga. Los Blancos have won the last eight league matches that the on-loan Chelsea player has featured for them.

Okra Tom Dawidi bounces back

After four years of lyrical hibernation, Ghanaian lyricist Okra Tom Dawidi has bounced back with an apology song.

In his new single titled ‘Winner for Life’, Okra Tom Dawidi renders apologies to his fans all over the world for the inconsistencies that occurred in his music career.

“I have been absent for some time but now I am here to stay. Sorry for the delay but I have things to say. Anyway to my loyal fans I have a price to pay,” the Okra Tom lamented in his track.

Okra, who is currently in the studio working on his new album, told NEWS-ONE that he was missing in action mainly because he had to concentrate on schooling and tackling some other financial problems pertaining to his music.

“I was MIA for all these years because I had to take care of certain important things in my life like preparing for my Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) exams and trying to put things in place.

I also had to work out some financial problems related to my music career,” the versatile and thought-provoking lyricist stated.

Okra, who is known in real life as Emmanuel Ralph Kotei Nikoi, hinted the paper that since ‘Azonto’ was the new trend in Ghanaian music, he had a massive Azonto track for his fans.

“I have been working in the studio on so many songs and trust me, my fans will get a feel of the Azonto flavour from me as well,” Okra said.

Okra is best remembered for his brilliant wordplay, fiery flow and a nasally, aggressive voice in his ‘Ayeeko’ track which featured Tinny and Obrafour in the ‘Execution Diary’ compilation.

Tonto Dikeh Punches Samini For Alleging P-Square Stole 'Azonto'

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Emmanuel Samini’s subtle attack on Nigerian music duo, P-Square for stealing Ghana's dance craze Azonto, has ruffled some feathers in Africa's most populous nation.

Samini's contention that P-Square's hit song and dance Alingo bore too much resemblance with Azonto to be original piece of art has attracted a response from popular Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh.

Samini’s version of the song, recorded with P-Square’s Alingo instrumental, released Monday criticizes the Nigerian duo for stealing the Ghanaian dance craze, Azonto and naming it Alingo.

There have several comments on several social networking sites over the song and arguments over who actually owns the Azonto dance craze.

Tonto Dikeh is not enthused by Samini’s song. She took to Twitter Wednesday to jab Samini over his song and his accusations.

The actress tweeted: “Azonto is Azonto n Alingo is Alingo! So waz his stress gosh! Ova d years 9ja has been bringin out dif dance moves no diss of copywrit!”

Catholic Church Rejects Prez Mahama’s Gesture

The Catholic Bishops Conference has issued a directive to its priests, not to accept the offer to be part of a State-sponsored pilgrimage trip to Israel.

According to Bishop Joseph Osei Bonsu, President of the Conference, priests wishing to embark on pilgrimage to the Holy Land, should be able to fund the trip themselves.

Bishop Osei Bonsu was speaking Thursday, on Adom TV, in reaction to reports suggesting that government intends to sponsor about 200 pastors to this year’s pilgrimage in Israel, to pray for the nation.

He said even though the Catholic Church has not been officially approached, some pastors of the church have             confirmed being approached by state officials to join some selected priests to the all-expense-paid trip.

However, the church will not let them accept that offer. Bishop Osei Bonsu described the decision as misplaced, adding that sending pastors to Jerusalem is not the business of government.

He maintained that, government must not use public funds to sponsor pastors to Israel to pray for the nation.

Supreme Court Dismiss Application By 327 Joinders

The Supreme Court has dismissed the application by 327 voters who wanted to join the petition challenging the declaration of President John Dramani Mahama, as the winner of the December 2012 polls.

The court said their presence was not necessary after hearing the application Thursday morning.

The 327 voters had wanted to join the election petition arguing that the elections were so transparent that there were no disputes after the declaration of the results; and for that reason it came as a surprise to them when the petitioners identified their polling stations, as among those where irregularities allegedly took place.

In 35 different applications, the 327 applicants stated that they were bringing the action in their capacity as citizens, who cast their ballots during the December 7 and 8, 2012 polls.

They were from some of the 11,916 polling stations, constituencies and regions where alleged irregularities have been cited by the petitioners.

But the petitioners contesting the legitimacy of President John Dramani Mahama opposed the moves by the 327 people to join the petition.

The petitioners argued that, the request by the applicants, if granted, “will open the floodgates for every registered voter who claims to have voted in the December 2012 presidential election to apply for joinder, if they so desire, and thereby stultify these proceedings interminably”.

They further argued that there was no need for the applicants to be allowed to join the petition because their arguments had been extensively canvassed by President Mahama, the Electoral Commission (EC) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who are all respondents in the case.

The motion for joinder was heard by the Supreme Court Thursday morning and the court came to the conclusion that their presence was not necessary.

"Where My Daddy Dey Aaaaaaa!” - Mzbel's Baby Sings

Ghanaian songstress Mzbel gave birth last weekend to a bouncy baby boy and as some people send her their congratulatory messages, others were also parroting the old question of who the father of the child is.

Here are some messages sampled form the social media as regards who the father of Mzbel’s child is:

Freelance journalist Fiifi Adinkra writes on facebook: “Is Mzbel second Mary? If the one who impregnated her did not accept it, Mzbel can let the public know and we will assist her.”

Quasi Anim of Hot FM says, “I guess Mzbel’s baby might be singing where my poppi dey aaaa.” Other funny comments we captured on twitter and on facebook also read:

“Maybe Mzbel just wanted a son like she said on radio, but not a father to her baby so let’s please allow her and let her be’ Naa wrote.

“If it happens to be the same Maxwell dating Nana Ama, then Mzbel might have a lot to explain to Ghanaians,” Chizzy.

During her interview on “Nikki & Sara Live,” Jessica cracked up when presented with an old photo of herself as a toothless child.
